NOTE TO READERS: i usually read novel keeping in mind the time period it was originally published. i recommend others to do the same, it will be more fun that way
SYNOPSIS:
the story starts with ganesh and vasant attending a opening cremation of a play theater (arena). in middle of chief minister facilitation there was a bomb blast, weeks after that there was a murder attempt on uttam partner for the unaccounted property of bheena.
so ganesh and vastant starts their investigation in find the real culprit and reason behind the bomb blasting. with lots of suspects and twists how ganesh managed to crack yet another case is the story.
KOLAI ARANGAM:
kolai arangam a neatly written story, suspense was kept till the end, (though modern readers can easily guess, keep in mind its written in 1980). the story clearly written in time of tamizh-eelam war. authors concern for eelam people are well established. also how some crimes are done in name of eelam is also pointed out.
writing wise,its sujatha , his typical wits and trendsetting narration moves the story in some high and low pace. characterizations were awesome,ganesh with his serious detectiveness and vasant with his sense of humor.its just a treat
OVERALL REVEIW:
i loved the story, and the suspense was good. very few of sujatha's novel feature ganesh-vasant through out the story,this is one such story. gives us more time to learn about ganesh and vasant. if you are a fan of ganesh vasant series. this one is for you.
